Action Modules
overview
Beyond just auditing and analyzing your system, SMP allows you to remediate any problems you find--right from
the console--with our advanced Action Modules.
Introduced in v4.4,
Action Modules allow you to make targeted and
surgical changes to your systems and applications.
Use our unique workflow to interact with
administrators, end users, and managers to verify
audit data, obtain supplemental information, or
receive the authorization to make changes.

enhancements in v5.1
Once installed, Action Modules are invoked from any
job results table. First, apply any filters to the audit
job results to target only those objects, systems, or
people that you would like to take action against. Then,
simply select an Action Module to use. Current Action Modules include:
- Active Directory –
The Active Directory Action Module provides the ability to provision, de-provision, and make bulk changes to the objects within AD. Whether you are looking to move, disable, or delete objects when cleaning up your directory, or making minor updates to users' divisions or department names, the AD action module will take the grunt work off your hands.
- Exchange Mailbox –
The Exchange Mailbox Action Module provides the ability to groom mailbox content way above and beyond built-in clean up modules. Unique capabilities allow for granular transactions like the removal of historical attachments in calendar items. Now, you can clean up and save precious storage space where you never could before.
- File System –
The File System Action Module has been enhanced to allow for better control of and changes to file system permissions, inheritance, and auditing, as well as allowing for the launching of external processes on targeted systems.
- Survey –
The Survey Action Module has been enhanced to support dynamic, multiple-choice answers and linkable question subjects.
