StealthAUDIT Version 5.0
 
 
STEALTHbits Technologies is pleased to announce the release of its fifth and most powerful version of the StealthAUDIT Management Platform ever; StealthAUDIT v5.0. Here are the highlights:

Core Product Enhancements - As an agent-less application, StealthAUDIT was already the fastest auditing solution on the market, but we've continued to make speed enhancements to all aspects of the product where ever possible. The core enhancements we’ve introduced into version 5.0 will make it faster and easier to operate StealthAUDIT on a daily basis.

  • New User Interface – We’ve overhauled our user interface to make it easier and faster to review and create reports on extremely large datasets. Our new grid technology eliminates the need to load up all your data before you can start filtering or creating your reports!
  • Group Level Configuration – Now you can configure hundreds of jobs right at the group level.
  • New Report Features - Fusion Charts have been upgraded with the newest version. Charts offer new and improved colors, display, mouse-over labels, animation, and control capabilities.
    • Email a Report Link – Tired of clogging email with reports to various groups? Now you can post them to a single location and only email the link to that report.
    • Email a PDF File – Automatically convert reports to PDF format and send via email so they can be viewed in Outlook and on mobile devices.
    • Text Box – Free form text box report elements allow for full length descriptions, HTML formatting, legend information, embedded links, and graphics.
    • Chart Linking – You can now link charts to other more detailed charts and provide drill-down capabilities.
    • Table Row Highlighting – Now you can highlight tables rows in green, yellow, or red based upon data results.
    • Table Icons – Now you can add icons to your table output to indicate status. Five icons are available; green, yellow, and red indicators, check marks, or x marks.

Improved Host Management - Prior to collecting information on anything else about your systems and applications, you need solid control over the hosts you plan to collect information from.
  • Automated Host Discovery – Now you can schedule Host Discovery using the Windows Scheduler service in the same way audit jobs are set to run when you are not at the SA console.
  • Automated Host Inventory – Obtain greater control with targeted inventory collections, making this task faster and more efficient by not collecting information from systems that you aren’t interested in. You can also schedule Host Inventory using the Windows Scheduler service when you are not at the SA console.

New Data Collectors & Enhancements - Aside from speed enhancements, we’ve added tons of new features and attributes to most of our 26 Data Collectors, and have also introduced several new data collectors to the family. Below is a quick summary of the different data collectors that have new features in this version:
  • New! - Blackberry Enterprise Server Data Collector
  • New! - Domain Name Service (DNS) Data Collector
  • New! - SMARTlog Data Collector
  • New! - Exchange Availability Data Collector
  • Enhanced - Exchange Mailbox Data Collector (Mailbox Search)

Analysis Modules - StealthAUDIT is a great application to automate discovery, inventory, and auditing of your systems and applications. In version 4.4, Analysis Modules were introduced as a powerful new enhancement, adding the capability to easily and quickly manipulate the mountains of data you’ve collected and turn it into valuable information without having to be a SQL guru. We are continuing to expand this section of the application with new and improved Analysis Modules.

Analysis Modules are found under each job configuration area.
 

  • Policy Center – The Policy Center Analysis Module is a major enhancement to StealthAUDIT by itself. This Analysis Module extends Business Rules by allowing you to centrally manage and configure multiple policies associated with your systems. Manage and maintain internal, industry standard, or government regulatory polices with this easy to use wizard. Using Policy Center in conjunction with StealthAUDIT, you’ll spend less time managing policies and more time enforcing them. Enforced policies lead to better, more stable, safer, and consistent environments.
  • Change Detection – This new Analysis Module encompasses not just the manipulation of your data, but also introduces new changes to the User Interface. Quickly identify what has changed in your audits as compared to any selected historical view and you will be presented with a colorized display that quickly points out new items, deleted items, and those that have changed values.
  • Notification – Now you can add thresholds and timings to being alerted with highly customized email messages that contain all the information you need about changes and conditions within your infrastructure to take immediate response.
  • SQL Trending & Forecasting – The SQL Trend Analysis Module provides the ability to quickly convert historical audit data into a view or table that can be used for generating table-based and line chart reports in order to analyze previously audited data and plan for future needs. We’ve extended this Analysis Module with some heavy linear regression formulas, so now you can forecast based on your historical information!
  • SQL Summary Tables – The SQL Summary Tables Analysis Module provides the ability to quickly summarize one or multiple tables into a new, executive level view of your information. Now you won’t have to wade through mounds of data to find out counts, averages, and sums of your data.
  •  SQL View Creation – The SQL View Creation Analysis Module has been improved to include custom filters and advanced controls over how your data is returned, including distinct values, top percentage or number of rows, ordering, and more.

Action Modules – Action Modules were introduced to the product line in version 4.4, allowing users to leverage the power of StealthAUDIT to take targeted and surgical actions against systems and applications using Action Modules right from your StealthAUDIT console. Use our unique workflow to interact with administrators, end users, and managers to verify audit information, obtain supplemental information, or obtain authorization to make changes.

Action Modules are a separately purchased, add-on modules that greatly extend the capabilities of StealthAUDIT so you can take targeted action within your infrastructure.

Once installed, Action Modules are invoked from any Job results table. First, apply any filters to the audit job results to target only those objects, systems, or people that you would like to take action against. Then, select from the growing number of Action Modules using the drop down menu at the bottom center of the result table.



You’ll be presented with very easy to use wizards for configuring the action selected.

  • Automated Actions - Now you can schedule your action to occur on a regular basis as part of your audits, analysis, and reporting.
  • Active Directory – The Active Directory Action Module provides the ability to provision, de-provision, and make bulk changes to objects within AD. Whether you are looking to move, disable, or delete objects when cleaning up your directory to doing minor updates to users division or department names, the AD Action Module will take the grunt out of the grunt work.
  • Exchange Mailbox - The Exchange Mailbox Action Module is the newest addition to our Action Module framework. This Action Module provides the capability to clean up email messages, calendar items, contacts, attachments, and more from your users’ mailboxes.
